Kelly: I’m not ignoring you. I’m enjoying the holidays….backing off from the great vortex that is the internet. I want to bake some cookies (got any suggestions?), drink some hot chocolate, and bask in the glow of the season. If only my little heathen children would stop ruining the Norman Rockwell-ness of my plans.

That right there is a big ol’ meme. And my attention span is so short. But I will suck it up, just for you….especially since I blew off the last one you tagged me for. But that was only because I couldn’t talk about the songs in my playlist I play the most because I don’t have a playlist. I thought about doing it some other ways, but that made my head hurt, I tried to think some more, but then got distracted by something shiny, and all was lost. I swear I have done this meme before, but since I can’t prove it, I’ll get to work.

Okay, second try here on your response, Scott! (My first attempt just disappeared…ugh. But I am on my huzbink’s laptop and not my Mac

I was just in a bookstore yesterday and saw that Eggers has a new one out…And I do like the idea that Staggering Genius is not quite the ordinary looking read — which is what attracted me to it to begin with. Thanks for the recommendation!

Just looked over your book list and I will heartily recommend #8. A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers.

I absolutely loved this book. I also loved the followup You Shall Know Our Velocity. Fantastic reads - both of them. SB

Hi Scott! and thanks. Sorry. My brain’s been busy elsewhere. Still is a bit, but I’m working on it.

nursemyra, The MoH read most of Naked out loud to me, so I feel like I’ve already read it. And I’d like to put the whole lot in the box to the Good Will and start all over again. Tell me PLEEEEEEEEZE which you’d get rid of. The reason most haven’t been read is because I HAVE read them up to about page 20 trying to decide (years ago) which to read and wasn’t thrilled then, so of course would not be now. It’s more of a cost saving measure. I do know there are these things called libraries…

re the books. read Naked by David Sedaris next. It’s so funny that you’ll finish it really quickly and it’ll be one more you can cross off your list.

there are a couple of others on that list that I’d advise you to give to goodwill :-)
