This is a lovely post. And it reminded me of the French tradition of lavender lemonade. I love the taste. I Googled for a recipe and found one that is closest to what I remember on plaincook dot com.

Aw, what a sweet and fragrant post :-) We live in the desert, and therefore have no lavender, unless you count the candle on the windowsill.

I adore lavender and my mother and I both adore lilacs, she always wrote/emailed me at school on the day they bloomed just to let me know they had. Lilac had to be everywhere though in Tasmania we only had a small shrub lilac.

Thanks for sharing.

I think I smell lavender now.

paisley, I do too, and sometimes go to the bulk bins at Henry's where I can purchase a big scoop to keep around the house. It's incredible!

Thank you very much, Gina -- you are an excellent daughter! I, on the other hand, am often not and always feel as if I need to improve. I hope your conversation with your mom is lovely.

Kelly, I'm so sorry to read of the loss of your mother and can't imagine. Goodness...Thank you for your kinds words.

I lost my mom 2 1/2 years ago and I think about her all the time. She seems to be everywhere and I had a good cry about her yesterday thinking of her missing all these milestones in the lives of my children whom she adored so much. Thanks for your touching Love Thursday post!
